Evora and more - Tuesday

We left Nazare this morning - sunny but incredibly calm seas so we saw no surfing. Another reason to come back again. Here's the sunset from last night.

We headed on our longish drive to Evora - First stopping at the cute walled town of Obidos.

We actually walked along the wall. And looked back at the former castle (now an upscale hotel). The castle is behind the gun show.

Then we went on our way to Evora - Stopping one more time to see Cromeleque dos Almendres - Portugal's version of Stonehenge. Dating back to 2000 BC - it contains almost 100 rocks arranged in a pattern. It's hard to show in photos

Here I am showing one of the rocks that has a carving in it - There were only 6 with carvings.

The rock formation is surrounded by cork trees

No pictures in Evora yet - mostly because we've been doing this.

Well - not really snorting wine but drinking it. More photos of Evora tomorrow or later...
