I can't seem to post answers to anyone's comments so here's a little update post to answer questions for anyone who is still following.
In Ostia Antica Penne asked about if the buildings were co ops or a prison. Co ops!
And one more interesting fact about the lavoratories - The little hole below was for wiping. They used sticks with cloths or sponges on them - I probably just went too far with the info but I thought it was interesting.

We listened to Kiss Kiss radio in Rome but it reminded us of Cinque Cinque.
We did not pet the artifact cat in Istanbul - the sign was clear :)
I'm not sure you saw Nihan answered your question about the building on our Bosphorus Tour - It's called Beylerbeyi Palace and was a Sultan's summer residence (you know that old place on the other side of the water). I would've liked to tour it but we didn't get there. Next time.
We are constantly saying "You know what Marianne would say!"
Our little house in Sirince was very similar to Cheval Blanc! (Also damp - nothing dried).
We wish you were at every little table with us!

- The weather in Istanbul was cooler than we expected and sometimes rainy. We battled rainy and cold days off and on in Turkey which was a drag on some days.
- Yes Mike is excited to cook Turkish food when we get home. We're thinking of doing Turkish tapas (to put a Portugese spin on it). We'll send invites!

The place in Cappadocia/Goreme is called Eren Bey. We loved it - Highly recommend!
Flat Tire Day - I may have neglected to say that the spare tire was also flat - good note, Chris :)
And George - it was the car rental place that came through - Ali was from there.
To All - the wine in Sirince was great even the fruit ones - Surprisingly, peach was my favorite.
Chris - you are a crack up.

Mike says I other than the flat tire day I haven't told any "bad" stories so here's one - On our second day in Sintra I was navigationally challenged and we didn't get off on the right bus stop for Pena Palace (the one at the tip top of the hill). We spent an extra 40 minutes on the bus going on hilly/winding/narrow streets and Mike started feeling car sick. He was hanging onto a handle in front of us for dear life - telling himself not to be sick. No fun!
And lastly - I thought the Turkey in Turkey post was so hilarious I laughed about it for days (Mike can confirm).
A blog is like sitting with friends but I'm doing all the talking. I wonder how you're all doing! We'll be contacting you soon to hear your part of the conversation.
xoxo!
