Pamukkale and More - Day 15 - Tuesday - Part 1

Here's why it's called the Cotton Castle...

It's a mountainside of calcite - white soft mineral  - that warm mineral spring water runs through creating terraces and pools (travertines). People come here to swim and play in them - You can hike up with your shoes off.






At the top there are more ruins!





This theater is amazingly intact...

Phillip - This is where St. Phillip was martyred and buried after criticizing the Roman snake worshippers. He was hung by his feet from a tree.
